Our Proposition
Built on Supply Chain Integrity
Pondus Resources bridges a structural gap between African waste-stream origination and European biofuel refineries. We operate with institutional rigour — managing quality, traceability and compliance from point of collection through to final delivery.
Quality
Feedstocks tested and graded against EU RED II specifications. No compromise on FFA, moisture or impurity thresholds.
Traceability
Chain-of-custody documentation from collection point to discharge port. Mass balance records aligned with European biofuels traceability standards. Independent verification on request.
Sustainability
Waste-derived categorisation under Annex IX of the Renewable Energy Directive. Double-counting eligible. No land-use change risk.
What We Trade
Waste-Derived Biofuel Feedstocks
We source and trade two primary feedstock categories, both qualifying as waste-derived materials under the EU Renewable Energy Directive. Our procurement network operates across West Africa and the Atlantic islands, with logistics infrastructure calibrated for European refinery intake requirements.
Product Detail
Used Cooking Oil & Animal Fats
Used Cooking Oil (UCO)
Collected from food service and commercial catering operations across our origin markets. Tested to European biofuels specifications including FFA, moisture, impurities and iodine value. Origin-market material consistently delivers within premium-grade specification thresholds. Transported in flexi-tanks or ISO containers, subject to buyer preference.
Animal Fats (Category 1 & 3)
Rendered tallow and grease derived from abattoir and processing operations. Category 1 qualifies for Annex IX double-counting under EU biofuels directives. Trading capacity expanding through 2026 in line with origin partnership development.
Quality Framework
How We Manage Product Integrity
Every parcel passes a structured four-stage quality protocol. Independent surveyors conduct pre-shipment and discharge surveys. Documentation packages include certificates of quality, certificates of origin, and mass balance statements aligned with European biofuels documentation standards.
Where We Operate
Geographic Footprint
Our network spans origination, consolidation and delivery across four key locations. Each node serves a specific logistical function within the supply chain.
Operational Nodes
Cape Verde — Primary Sourcing
Established collection and consolidation infrastructure across the archipelago. UCO gathered from hospitality and food service operators. Accessible deepwater port facilities facilitate efficient loading onto feeder vessels.
Las Palmas, Canary Islands — Logistics Hub
Strategically positioned Atlantic transshipment point. Las Palmas offers bonded storage, blending facilities and frequent vessel connections to North Sea and ARA range ports. Pondus uses Las Palmas as its primary consolidation and quality-check hub.
ARA Range — European Delivery
Amsterdam–Rotterdam–Antwerp serves as the principal discharge zone for European refinery customers. Deep liquid bulk handling capacity and proximity to major biodiesel and HVO production facilities make ARA the natural terminus for our supply chains.
Nigeria — Expansion Origin
A developing origination market with substantial UCO and animal fat generation from urban food service sectors. Collection partnerships in development, with first commercial shipments targeted through 2026 and 2027.
United Kingdom
Headquartered in the UK
Pondus Resources Ltd is incorporated and headquartered in the United Kingdom. The UK base provides proximity to major European trading counterparties, access to established commodity finance markets, and a well-regulated corporate environment for institutional counterparty engagement.
About Pondus Resources
Why We Exist
The Market Gap
African waste-stream feedstocks represent a structurally under-exploited resource for European biofuel producers. Fragmented local collection, inconsistent quality standards and limited export logistics have historically constrained supply. Pondus was formed to resolve this.
Our Approach
We apply commodity trading discipline to a supply chain that has traditionally operated informally. By embedding quality management, compliance documentation and reliable logistics into our operating model, we create a repeatable, scalable pathway from African origination to European refinery intake.
What Differentiates Us
Differentiation
Regional Specialisation
Pondus focuses exclusively on African origination. This geographic focus builds origination depth, supplier relationships and logistical knowledge that generalist traders do not replicate.
Compliance-First Operations
Documentation is treated as a core product component, not an afterthought. Buyers receive complete compliance packages, reducing audit burden and risk exposure at the refinery end.
Principal Trading Model
Pondus operates on a principal basis with structured commercial terms. Counterparties see clear deal economics on every transaction.
Sustainability Credentials
All material supplied by Pondus qualifies as waste-derived under EU RED II. We do not trade virgin vegetable oils or material with land-use change exposure.
